Important and Welcome News Brief

I am pleased to let you all know that Anne deLegh, our Membership Liaison Secretary for the last few years, is making a strong and very welcome recovery from serious brain surgery which she underwent a couple of weeks ago. When I spoke to her yesterday she was just like her ‘old self’ and very pleased to be at home. This has been a very worrying time for Piers and the rest of her family and I am certain that you all wish her well for a speedy and complete recovery. I fully expect to hear reports of engine rebuilding and the like as soon as she is able to swap her walking stick (temporary) for a spanner! In the meantime Geri Barnden has picked up responsibility for all things to do with Membership of Southern Counties so please if you need any help in that area contact Geri. Follow the link to our web site for contact details in the Committee Section.

A Couple of Event Reminders

Please don’t forget Drive It Day this coming Sunday, 24th April. This years drive promises a lovely trip along the Kent/Sussex border to the coast around Rye. It you would like to join in please go to the Web site and our events schedule and send Ed Friend a message (eff@northdownns.org). Details of all events are also in RevCounter with contact details.

Looking forward to 6th November with the London to Brighton Run I am pleased to let you know that we have secured more seating in the Victory Inn at Staplefield such that we now have the whole of their back room. However because this is their busiest day of the year they will need confirmation of number by end of May. So if you want to have lunch at the Victory after watching the cars go by then PLEASE LET JEFF SNELL KNOW BY END OF MAY. Call him on 01342 719 247.Below is a link to the Wings Aviation Museum at Balcombe. As I said in my last brief I have arranged a visit for Saturday 14th May. Check out their Website and if you would like to come along please email me at dave.usy862@gmail.com or ring me on 07711 157 032.Link to Wings Aviation Museum

And FinallyOn Wednesday last week due to the good offices of Nick Varlow we were able to hold our first East Sussex Noggin & Natter. This was held at the Blackboys Inn near Uckfield and it was most pleasing to see a good attendance with new faces and some that I had not seen for a long time. I would just like to thank all those who attended and I hope this will be the start of a popular monthly event. Well done Nick.

Thanks and Happy Healey Driving
